I'M MICHELLE
Many people would describe me as a mother, wife, and Lyme warrior, but I am so much more than that. And so are you!
Lyme can make us feel like we've been put into an uncomfortable little box, unable to do many of the things we used to. However, that doesn't mean we have to stay that way.
Let's break free from feeling like we can't, and start living the life we deserve. I invite you to join me on a journey of finding balance with our emotions, discovering what we can do, and start living life again.
MY STORY
I was born near Lyme, CT in the 70's, in the heart of what was the beginning of the Lyme epidemic.
Although I was relatively healthy until my mid-20's, it is highly likely I may have contracted Lyme at a very young age. I began having curious, "random" health issues - gut issues, degeneration in my spine, migraines, shooting migratory pains. I saw specialists for each issue, none of them connecting any dots. I just thought I need to take better care of myself.
In July 2015, I went camping with my family for the weekend. I came home and discovered a curious bitemark on my stomach, so I went to the doctor to make sure it wasn't infected. The doctor told me it looked like shingles, but since I was young and healthy, I didn't need any medication. I should go home and rest and I'd be better in 10-14 days. That night I developed fever, body aches, and flu-like symptoms. After 14 days with no improvement, I returned to the doctor and saw another provider at the clinic. The bite was still visible, and this doctor thought it could possibly be a tick bite and ordered labwork. My labwork came back negative, but the doctor prescribed me 14 days of doxycycline "just in case." After finishing these antibiotics, I was still no better.
Thankfully, a family member who had been diagnosed with Lyme several years ago connected me to her LLMD. I was diagnosed with Lyme, Babesia, and Bartonella based on my history and symptoms. I was started on a pulsed antibiotic and herbal protocol. After many rounds of treatment, changing my diet, and making other lifestyle changes, I finally regained my health and found the balance I had been seeking for so long.
The road was not easy and many lessons were learned. I learned that no matter what, I could not give up. No matter what other people believed about Lyme Disease, no matter what conventional doctors may say, no matter what barriers I faced. I could live the life I desired by thinking about things differently. I could change the way I see myself and my life, discover what is really important, and get rid of things I didn't really need in my life that were holding me back.
I am healthier today because of my Lyme journey. I am living a more fulfilled life because of the obstacles I have overcome. I have learned to find balance and true joy in spite of my circumstances.
And you can do that too.
If you're ready to walk away from your own limiting beliefs and build a balanced life, I am ready to lead the way.
